From India's finest growing regions

We do not trade everything.
We specialise.

BAGANS Agri-Based is a specialist agri-products enterprise focused on carefully selected spices, Darjeeling and Assam tea, rice from eastern India, and pulses. Our approach is simple: understand the commodity, understand its origin, understand the buyer's requirement—and supply accordingly.

Origin, grade, processing, packing and commercial terms are agreed product-by-product according to buyer requirements and applicable regulations.

The BAGANS philosophy

Knowledge before volume. Quality before variety.

BAGANS is built around specialisation. Agricultural commodities can look similar while differing materially in origin, crop, colour, pungency, aroma, moisture, processing, cleanliness, grade and end-use suitability. We therefore prefer a curated portfolio in which we can develop product knowledge and dependable sourcing relationships.

01 / SPECIALISE

Selected Products

Our focus is on categories we understand and can source with discipline: spices, premium regional teas, eastern Indian rice and selected pulses.

02 / SOURCE

Selected Origins

We look to established agricultural regions, including Guntur, Salem, Bengal, North Bengal, Assam and the wider North East, depending on product and specification.

03 / UNDERSTAND

Client Requirement

Retail, food-service, processing, wholesale and export buyers may need different grades. BAGANS begins with the requirement rather than forcing a standard catalogue onto every buyer.

04 / DELIVER

Commercial Value

Our objective is a sensible balance of quality, traceable commercial documentation, appropriate packing and reasonable pricing.

Core specialities

Spices are at the heart of BAGANS

Our spice programme concentrates particularly on chilli and turmeric—whole and powdered forms—sourced according to crop characteristics, intended application and buyer specification.

Chilli & Chilli Powder

Selected chilli is considered by origin, colour, heat profile, appearance, drying and intended culinary or processing use. BAGANS has a particular interest in established chilli belts including Guntur and suitable eastern and North-Eastern origins. Whole chilli and chilli powder can be discussed against buyer-specific requirements.

Turmeric & Turmeric Powder

Turmeric is selected with attention to origin, colour, aroma, processing and suitability for the buyer's market. Our sourcing interest includes Salem and other recognised southern producing regions together with suitable eastern and North-Eastern supply areas.

Darjeeling & Assam Tea

Operating from the Bagdogra–Darjeeling region gives BAGANS a natural proximity to two globally recognised tea geographies. We focus on selected Darjeeling and Assam teas, with sourcing conversations driven by style, season, grade, cup profile, packing and destination-market needs.

Rice & Pulses

Our food-grain portfolio concentrates on rice from eastern India and selected pulses. Rather than presenting an unlimited commodity list, BAGANS identifies suitable varieties and grades against the buyer's cooking, retail, institutional or distribution requirement.

Sourcing geography

One India. Distinct agricultural identities.

India's agricultural strength lies in regional diversity. BAGANS does not treat origin merely as a name on a bag. We consider how geography, climate, cultivar, crop practices and local processing traditions may influence the commercial character of a product.

Our operating presence in Bagdogra, North Bengal/Darjeeling provides a gateway to Bengal, the Himalayan foothills and the North East, while our South Mumbai presence places us close to India's commercial, financial, logistics and export ecosystem.

Guntur & Southern India
Key sourcing interest for chilli and associated spice trade, selected according to required commercial characteristics.
Salem & Tamil Nadu
A recognised turmeric geography forming an important part of BAGANS' turmeric sourcing focus.
Darjeeling & North Bengal
Home-region advantage for tea, eastern agri-products and closer engagement with regional supply networks.
Assam & North East India
A major tea region and an important part of our wider search for distinctive agricultural products and suitable spice origins.
Eastern India
Selected rice, pulses and agri-products sourced according to variety, availability, quality and buyer requirements.
BAGANS sourcing discipline

A requirement-led quality process

Quality is not one universal number. It is the fitness of a product for its intended buyer, use and market. Our commercial process is designed around that principle.

01

Requirement

Understand product, grade, form, quantity, packing, destination and intended use.

02

Origin

Identify suitable producing region and supply source for the required profile.

03

Specification

Agree relevant commercial and quality parameters before final supply.

04

Verification

Use appropriate inspection, documentation or testing arrangements where agreed or required.

05

Supply

Coordinate packing, commercial documentation and logistics appropriate to the transaction.

Purpose beyond commerce

Agriculture with an Adivasi welfare commitment

BAGANS believes that growth in agri-business should create opportunity closer to the communities connected with the land. A social purpose therefore forms part of the enterprise's long-term vision, with particular concern for the welfare and economic advancement of Adivasi tribal communities.

The programme is intended to encourage practical pathways such as agricultural awareness, skills, livelihood opportunities, responsible sourcing relationships, market understanding and participation in value chains. Specific initiatives will be undertaken subject to local needs, feasibility, partnerships and applicable law.

Our welfare direction

We aim to explore initiatives that can help strengthen livelihoods without reducing communities to a marketing narrative. The emphasis is intended to remain practical: knowledge, dignity, opportunity, market linkage and sustainable economic participation.

Domestic & international markets

Built to think beyond the local transaction

BAGANS welcomes discussions with wholesalers, distributors, food processors, hospitality buyers, retailers, private-label businesses, importers and other institutional buyers. For exports, each transaction is approached according to the product, destination, buyer specification and applicable Indian and destination-country requirements.

Depending on the transaction, matters such as grading, testing, labelling, phytosanitary or food-safety documentation, packing, shipping documentation and destination compliance may need to be addressed with the relevant service providers and authorities. BAGANS does not treat export readiness as a slogan—it is a transaction-by-transaction compliance exercise.
